Bhangarh Fort Rajashthan is a very big fort. Now it is almost in ruin condition. This fort is situated in the footstep of sloping hills. This fort has three main boundaries. Start of the first boundary, there is the main entry gate, when entered inside the fort there is an entry ticket hall. From here approx 300-400 meters away second entry gate of the fort.

After taking an entry ticket when we move ahead inside the fort. Both sides of this path have an ancient structure of the market. This shop structure is approx 400 years old. But the most interesting part is that the ancient market structure having only a wall and no sealing on it. This was the market in ancient times and Rani Ratnavati regularly comes here to the market for shopping.

After crossing the market area, the fort’s second wall is there. Now Three arch gate is there for a second entry. When moving inside the fort, there is one nice temple on the right side and an amazing view of Bhangarh fort can be seen from this point.

The Rani Ratnavati’s palace at the last is the main attraction of this fort. This is the last part of the fort and The fort’s third wall having a two burj for the entry. The palace or Mahal is almost a three-story building. The top of the palace is completely ruined condition. And no sealing for the upper part of the Mahal.

The complete fort area can be seen from the top of the palace. The backside of the Palace is covered with a high hill. In the rainy season, the rainwater coming from the hill might be stored in the fort’s open water reservoir.

Bhangarh Fort Rajasthan was built by King Bhagwant Das for his son Madho Singh. The Madho Singh was going to live here. This fort was built in the 16th century.

The queen of Bhangarh was named Ratnavati, who was a very beautiful queen, she used to come here to buy perfume in the market. One day a Tantric named Singhai saw the Queen Ratnavati. He was fascinated by seeing her. That Tantrik now wished to get the queen. The Tantrik sent someone and replaced the normal perfume with Black magic perfume, which is to be used by Queen Ratnavati.

The Rani Ratnavati also had knowledge of Tantra and as soon as Rani came to know about black magic. She threw the perfume bottle out of the palace.  The bottle fell on the rock and the perfume bottle was broken.

The black magic reverse attack happened on the Tantric and he was killed by that stone. Before the death of the Tantric, He cursed the Bhangarh fort, That no one will survive in this city and all will be dead. One day the entire Bhangarh is over, and no one is left, since then it is believed that their souls live here. So it’s a cursed fort.

I was planning to visit this fort as well as Bhangarh experience and my dreams were coming true. I started my journey from Narayanpur, which is a small town. Bhangarh, about 60 km from Narayanpur. On the way to Bhangarh Fort,  Ajabgarh village is there. Ajabgarh has also an abandoned fort situated on a small hill adjacent to the Ajabgarh-Bhangarh road.

Bhangarh Fort in Rajasthan is a very beautiful fort, it is a different experience keeping in mind that it is most haunted. You are going to visit the most haunted and mysterious place in India, but there is no such horror as there are many people in the fort.  Fort Lover must see this fort.

Best time to visit Bhangarh

This fort is in the Alwar district of Rajasthan, Due to heat in the summer, It is not recommended to visit this place in summer.  After the rainy season and in winter the Bhangarh Fort Rajasthan visit can be planned.

October to February is the best time to visit Bhangarh Fort Rajasthan

Distance from Jaipur – Bhangarh fort is 90 kilometers away from Jaipur

Distance from Alwar – Bhangarh fort is 90 kilometers from Alwar. You can go here by a two-hour drive.

Bhangarh Fort Rajasthan timings

Bhangarh fort timing 9.00 am to 5.00 pm. This fort closed for visitors at five o’clock in the evening.  No entry is allowed after 5.00 pm.
