Udaipur city
Udaipur city I would like to tell you that Udaipur is a dream destination for me. It is famous for its history, culture, scenic locations, and the Rajput-era palaces. It is popularly known as the “City of Lakes” Because of its sophisticated lake system. Often referred to as the ‘Venice of the East’. I have read an article on this about 20 years ago. It has seven lakes surrounding the city. Five of the major lakes, namely Fateh Sagar Lake, Lake Pichola, Swaroop Sagar Lake, Rangsagar and Doodh Talai Lake. It is prominent for its historic forts and palaces, museums and galleries. Furthermore, it has natural locations and gardens, architectural temples, as well as traditional fairs, festivals, and structures.
Ancient Time
It is the historic capital of the kingdom of Mewar in the former Rajputana Agency. The Maharana Udai Singh II of the Sisodia clan of Rajput had founded Udaipur in 1553 When he shifted his capital from the city of Chittorgarh to Udaipur after Chittorgarh was besieged by Akbar. It is located in the fertile, circular Girwa Valley to the southwest of Nagda, which was the first capital of Mewar.
The city of lakes Udaipur city is located around the green hills of Aravallis. which separates it from the Thar Desert. The famous Lake Palace, located in the middle of Lake Pichola is one of the most beautiful sights of Udaipur. Above all, It is home to Jaisamand Lake that is claimed to be the second-largest man made sweet water lake in Asia.
