Shivaji Maharaj’s childhood was spent here, he stayed there for 15 years until he captured his first fort. In today’s time, the Lal Mahal has been rebuilt. The Lal Mahal was situated near Shaniwar Wada.  Shaji Raje Bhosale started the construction of Lal Mahal to revive the city of Pune because Mughal rular has destroyed Pune.
