Ahmedabad city – The old Ahmedabad walled city is approx 600 years old. This is India’s first UNESCO heritage city. This is located on the banks of the Sabarmati River.

Now Ahmedabad is on both sides of the Sabarmati river which is approx 30 km from the state capital Gandhinagar, which makes its twin city.
Now furthermore It is a metropolitan city and the commercial hub of the state of Gujarat.

It is famous for its cotton textiles, Automotive, and Farma industries also. It is also famous for theme restaurants, street food places, diamond cutting, and much more.

Ahmedabad History

Before the 11th AD the Ahmedabad was known as Ashaval. This was a forest area and Sabarmati River was floating here. It was the habitat of Bhill (Adivasi) and ruled by Bhill King Asha Palli.

The Karna king of the Chalukyas dynasty of Anhilwada today known as Patan defeated the Bhil king in 1078 and had established the ancient city Karnavati along the bank of the Sabarmati River.

The Rajput Muslim governor Zafar Khan Muzaffar was appointed as a governor of Gujarat by Muhammad bin tuglak of Delhi sultanate in 1391. When the Delhi sultanate weekend then Jafar khan declare himself independent king of Gujarat sultanate in 1407 and formed Mujafferid Dynasty. Later on his grandson, Sultan Ahmed shah has taken control of Gujrat sultanate in 1411 A.D. He had laid the foundation of the walled city. on 26 February 1411 and given the name Ahmedabad.

Ahmedabad having a wide range of diversified cultures. Most of the celebrations and observances include the Navratri festival and Uttarayan known as kite-flying day on 14 and 15 January. During nine nights of the Navratri celebration, everyone plays Garba. The Jagannath Rath yatra also one of the famous religious activity in Ahmedabad.

The Summer usually starts at Mid-March and lasts up to June end. The typical temperature in May goes to very high between 40-48°C. It is strongly advisable not to visit this place during the summer. With the arrival of Monsoon by end-June, this city is a fun place.
