Induri Fort
Induri Fort, this fort is also called Indori Fort and Sarsenapati’s Fort. Induri Fort is at a distance of 36 km from Pune and it is 3 km from Talegaon on Talegaon – Chakan road in Induri village.
Induri fort History
This Fort was built by Khanderao Dabhade in 1720, Khanderao Dabhade was the eldest son of Yesaji Dabhade, the bodyguard of Shivaji Maharaj. From 1705 to 1717, Khanderao Dabhade extended the Maratha Empire to Baroda.
Shahu Maharaj made Khanderao Dabhade the Commander-in-Chief of the Maratha Empire on 11 January 1717. Talegaon, which was inherited by General Khanderao Dabhade, later came to be known as Talegaon Dabhade.
Khanderao Dabhade died on 27 September 1729 in the old palace of Talegaon. His samadhi is on the banks of Indrayani river near Baneshwar temple.
About induri fort
This Fort is built on the banks of the Indrayani river, which is currently in ruin condition and nearly broken. The entrance of this Fort looks spectacular. Two bastions are beautiful on the main side. In front of the main entrance, the local people’s houses are there. Inside the main gate two both sides, two small halls are there.
There is a palace on top of this entrance, whose path is on the right side as soon as the entrance is over. The wall of this Fort is also completely broken. The mahal is over there at the main entrance.
There is a temple of Kadjai Mata and Bapu Buva inside the Induri Fort, local people come here daily to offer prayers. Kadjai Mata has a sculpture in front of the temple itself and there is a small sitting position statue of a lion.
There are many trees and plants all around the temple. This fort is not in good condition so if love the history then a one-time visit is worth
If you are visiting in monsoon then you can visit Kund Mala it is just 3 km from Induri.
How to Reach
Induri Fort is 36 km from Pune and 3 km from Talegaon on Talegaon Chakan road in Induri Gaon. A taxi can be taken to reach Induri. Regular uses are available from Pune to Talegaon. Talegaon can be reached by Local train also. The nearest railway station is Talegaon. The Induri fort is also known as Indori fort
