Gajanan Maharaj Mandir Alandi
Gajanan Maharaj Mandir Alandi – Suddenly I noticed this temple when I was coming back to Moshi from Alandi. The main temple is also visible from the Alandi Moshi Road. I had a big curiosity and could not stop myself to visit this temple. I checked the display board that was placed adjacent to the main gate of temple premises. Furthermore, I came to know that, this is Gajanan Maharaj Sansthan Sehgaon branch in Shri Chetra Alandi.
I went inside the temple premises. The main entrance was a very attractive design in a circular shape. There is a gangway to reach the temple. Both sides of the gangway have buildings. These buildings have a main office, Prasadalya, and residence for pilgrimage.
After crossing the complex, the main temple view looks awesome. Two staircases go to reach the temple. After a few steps have chhatris These enhance the beauty of the Temple. In the middle of the staircase, well-maintained garden. At the top, The main temple of Sant Gajanan Maharaj. Few Books are kept inside the temple to know more about Gajanan Maharaj. Devotees can sit and read these holy books in a very quiet and calm environment.
About Gajanan Maharaj
Sant Gajanan Maharaj is considered an incarnation of Lord Shiva. No one knows when he was born and from where he came to Shegaon. But on 23 February 1878, Gajanan Maharaj appeared for the first time in Shegaon, His face was radiant and glowing. Two gentlemen, Bankat Lal and Damodar, were attracted to Gajanan Maharaj. They saw that Gajanan Maharaj was picking the leftover food from the leaf plates. Later he drank the ordinary water which was kept for cattle. Bankatlal was amazed and realized that this cannot be done by an ordinary person. He could be a saint.
Gajanan Maharaj has shown many miracles to the people of Shegaon, most of them for helping society. Like converting the saltwater into sweet water, used to make a sick person healthy, just by the touch of Gajanan Maharaj. Most of such terrible diseases of people were ended, for which there was no cure, Many more people were blessed to rid of their pains. Gajanan Maharaj used to chant the Bhajan (Devotional song) “Gani Gan Ganat Bote” and hence people started calling him Gajanan Maharaj
Today Gajanan Maharaj is not with us but his devotees still feel their miracle in day-to-day life. He took samadhi on 08 September 1910. It is believed that Gajan Maharaj remained in the temple even today. Later, a Trust has been formed to manage Gajanan Maharaj temple. The Anand Sagar the biggest piece full temple and lake had been constructed by Gajanan Maharaj mandir trust to resolve water issues. The trust develop a lake and its surrounding area with a unique combination of spirituality and an Amusement park for devotees with a nominal donation
