About Mastani Lake
There is a severe shortage of water in the Lake. It is quite large but has very little water in it. There is a temple on the shores of this Lake and a few steps around the temple to reach the water of the Lake. On descending these stairs, there is a path to the Shiva temple. A Shivling is placed in this small shiv temple.
Before the main temple on this Lake, There is a passage that goes down 30-40 steps to a tunnel. After descending these stairs it is a closed path and from there a small tunnel goes forward, but this tunnel is so small that No one can walk inside it. It is said that this tunnel was made for Bajirao Mastani. It is believed that a tunnel goes from here to Shaniwar Wada. Mastani used this tunnel to get here.
This lake is a good picnic spot. You can spend time here. The view of this lake is very beautiful. There is a Mastaneswar temple on the way down a few steps in front of the main temple. A Brothers Cafe has also been built here. If you are going towards Dive ghat you can visit this place.
