Shivaram Rajguru is a great freedom fighter from Maharashtra. Shivaram Rajguru was born on 24 August 1908 in the Khed village near Pune in Maharastra. The Shivaram Rajguru mother Parvati devi and father was Harinarain Rajguru belongs to a Brahmin family.

His father died when he was six years old. His elder brother’s name was Dinker. He did his schooling at the new English high school Poona. He joined Seva Dal initial time and later on, He was a member of HSRA (Hindustan Socialist Republic Association) who wanted to India freedom by any means from British rule.

The Lala Lajpat Rai was protesting Simon Commission. The police did the lathi charge and Lala Lajpat Rai was killed by the act of British police.

The Rajguru, Bhagat Singh, and Sukhdev were very angry and want to take avenge Lala Lajpat Rai’s death. On 17th December 1928, The Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev took part in the assassination of John Saunders British police officers.

They were arrested along with 21 co-inspirators and all three were convicted of the charges. It was supposed to be a schedule of hanging on 24 March 1931 but due to avoiding public violation, the hanging was done one day earlier on 23 March 1931. This day is martyrs day in India.

The rajguru wada approx a hundred years old wada ( Home). Now till 2004 neither the government nor local care this historical place. In 2004 the Hutatma Rajguru Smarak Samit Trust was formed. The trust member works hard and gives recognition to Rajguru wada.

The Rajguru wada is located in Rajguru Nagar near the bank of Bhima River. The Wada is generally called an old house in Maharastra. Before entry in Rajguru Nagar after crossing the overbridge on Bhima Rever, The Rajguru Wada can be seen.

A local organization form the Hutatma Rajguru Smarak Samiti (HRSS) to celebrate the birth anniversary and Matyre day.

Every year 4 times national flag ceremony was done at Rajguru Wada.
